About this Guide....
This guide is the only source to find most of its content. The information within came from visitors and new residents. If you can think of anything useful to be added, please contact us.
Pine Island has been able to preserve an “Old Florida” lifestyle while remaining
creative, exciting and attractive enough to draw over 30,000 visitors every year.
The largest island off Florida’s west coast, Pine Island is 17 miles long and has
a population of about 6,000 during off-
I grew up in the Florida Keys and find this Island to possess the same qualities. It’s safe, peaceful and Capt. Richard Dobson of the local Sheriff Dept keeps it that way. Business is good, real estate values have held well and traffic is rarely a problem.
There’s one road in, one road out, and there’s more here than most think. We have our own elementary school, a public library, a community pool, 3 post offices, Lilly’s full service Deli, there’s a feed store, 3 fire departments, a day spa, our own dermatologist, 3 automotive centers, 5 major banks, 4 boat ramps, a real estate guide, a local weekly paper, an active nightlife and over 30 different places to dine.
Being a local resident I don’t see the area the same as you, so this guide was created by me personally spending 4 months with visitors asking what they would want in a guide. I made friends with and would like to thank the many people from all over the world that provided great input. DPI is printed twice yearly and distributed all over Lee County. Pine Island is an extraordinary place to explore I hope you enjoy yourself.
Our publication company has grown well through the recession and we’ve helped a lot
of businesses adapt through tough times. We’ve published some of the most successful
papers and magazines in Florida for years, and I do understand the 90/10 rule. 10%
of the businesses hold up the other 90. It’s a pleasure to work with that 10%. I
often ask them why they support us. The answer is usually the same-

Our office also publishes the Lee County Boater, a monthly guide to local boating, a Cape Coral City Guide and an annual boater’s guide. Plus we host many websites. Visit us online at www.nauticalmileenterprises.com
Enjoy your stay, whether one day or forever, and contact me personally if I can help you find anything or make your stay more pleasant than it already is.
